introduction to information technology
[4/23,4/25 -- Human-Computer Interaction--]
This class was related to Human-computer interaction called HCI. HCI is just part of computer science. However we didn’t look around HCI in it’s perspective, we did HCI in art, ethic perspective. Key point of it is that people often interact with media technologies as though the technologies were people. Then ironical thing was that HCI related to ethics. Moreover aesthetics and design do too. We looked around a history of HICI as tools. Surprisingly, we already studied them : Bush’s memex, Ivan Sutherland’s sketchpad, Engelbart’s mouse and GUI and word processing, Nelson’s hypertext, so on. World wide web using now is it, too. Interest thing is that initial generation of HCI concentrated only tools(mouse, key board…) as method based on industrial design. However we use and invent the method over it having a purpose.
Then, what is the purpose of tools of the HCI? Answer is that the devices announce human’s direction or indication to the computers. In except, many field including the Military, Universities, Government, Companies were interested in the HCI. Thus they fund it.Finally, HCI met the AI. However there was a question : Should the computer act like a person?. There were
two opinions. First, the agent similar to system of Amazon.com . It can do some things human does not command. The other hand, the direct manipulation can do only some things human does command. Then we should to consider to give some meaning or define(co-construction of meaning). We watched some movies of the HCI, after. We recalled the ELIZA. ELIZA answers our questions but they are not correct. However it is not fail. It is so human. Then, we can do Johnstone’s algorithms. First, point a person, and make him to say something. He will say “I can’t say something.”(shying). Then we should to say to him that “Ok, then can you guess the answer in my mind. Give me questions”(in fact, we have no idea). Then He will start to question and get out of pressure of talking. When we answer the his question, we will have some ruleAs a result, he will happy to know right answer and shout to it. What we draw on it?
Ethnomethodology simply means the study of the ways in which people make sense of their social world. Ethnomethodologists assume that social order is illusory. That is order of world is defined by my taste. It is far from mind of 1600s.HCI is from Films. Technology inspires films and film inspires new technology. The new technology develops the HCI, so we can anticipate developing of the HCI in the films. That is, Films are anticipating or inspiring HCI.

4/11 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
introduction to information technology
[4/11 -- Artificial Intelligence--]
This week's theme is Artificial Intelligence(A.I). Some years ago I have ever seen movie 'A.I.' . That movie made to be impressed me by a splendidly screen, and humanity. In some respect, that story is unimaginable. but it is very surprising sudy.
Artificial intelligence is a type of computer technology which is concerned with making machine work in an intelligent way. This class we learned Alan Turing. He is founder of computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematician. and so on. He made one game. That called "imitation game." The game is playing by 3 people. Man and woman stays in a room apart from the other. and one people perform another sex. than interrogator guess and determine person's sex. Can you guess it? That will be difficult than you think. We should judge by logical or context or flow conditions.
Marvin Minsky defined AI. That is the science of making machines do things that would require intelligence if done by human.
So Artificial intelligence need research areas. For example representation, languages, understanding, vision(computer vision system), robotics and so on. But researcher met a difficulty research. so AI couldn't cope with all. There are problems. but It is algorithm programming. So funding was stopted.
Planning as a technical problem is GPS. GPS is general problem solve. It is what is known in AI as a 'planner' It need that a full and accurate model of the " state of the world."

4/2 , 4/4 SOCIAL NETWORKS
introduction to information technology
[4/2 , 4/4 -- Social Networks-- ]
This time, we learn social networks. We live in a global village and society. So we need communicate other people and express my view. like this, In age of new media, we need social networks too. In fact new media technologies usually reinforce existing social networks or even work to isolate people. But when new media technologies facilitate new social networks.
Network is to know each other. We learned social networks as science, technology, popular culture and art. First as science, social network analysis is and interdisciplinary social science it concerned sociologists. buy physicist and mathematicians helping them by diagrams and mass balance data. Social network's history express a family trees. also in 1967, stanley milgram 's study show us that people thought might be able to reach the target whether directly or via a "friend of a friend" that six-degrees fo separation. and another study, Sometimes acquaintances are more valuable than friends (week relationship > strong relationship : sometimes)
If you connect separate networks you have bridging capital or bonding capital. bridging capital is connect each other. and bonding capital is the center of one group.
Social networks as art are friendster Map and global networks and so on. Social networks is dynamic relation. that grains and change. almost every day. many people want visualize social networks. so they express by variable method. map, diagrams graph and so on.
This class I leaned many method and social network's importance. Our society can definite networks.
